Many people are confused about whether Golden Rule of Arizona is the same as a United HealthCare plan. The answer is yes. Golden Rule is the name used by United HealthCare to market their individual healthcare plans in Arizona. If you start to see both names being used interchangeably, don’t let this confuse you. In the state of Arizona, these two companies are the same.
Individuals seeking a health insurance plan have several options these days, but determining which plan to buy can be complicated. With Golden Rule of Arizona and Anderson Insurance Services, you have the flexibility to choose the type of insurance you need at the most competitive price.
Golden Rule/United HealthCare of Arizona offers high-deductible health plans, self-employed insurance, health savings accounts and other optional benefits.
The Copay Select plan is the most popular one offered by United HealthCare in their Golden Rule of Arizona plans. It features a higher premium with lower out-of-pocket costs, and deductibles ranging from $500 to $10,000 per year. In addition to the deductible, enrollees can choose a maximum out-of-pocket coinsurance option of $0, $3,000 or $5,000. Coinsurance is a form of cost sharing that is paid after the deductible is met. The plan comes with a prescription card the covers both generic and brand-name drugs.
The Copay Saver plan is the lowest priced copay plan for Golden Rule of Arizona enrollees. It features lower monthly premiums and deductibles that range from $1,500 to $10,000. The coinsurance maximum is $6,000 (in-network, after deductible, per person). Generic drugs are covered with a copay of $15 but there is no coverage for brand name medications.
In addition to these two copay plans, Golden Rule of Arizona health insurance offers two popular HSA (Health Savings Account) plans.
The HSA100 is their most comprehensive, with deductibles that range from $1,250 to $5,000 for individuals and $2,500 to $10,000 for families, with $0 coinsurance. Members get a “preferred price” for all prescription drugs, but any drug they choose is no charge after the deductible has been met. Preventive care is provided at 100% with no deductible.
A similar plan, the HSA70 has the same benefits as the HSA100, but it is less expensive and requires a 30% coinsurance payment.
Golden Rule of Arizona health insurance also offers several High Deductible Health Plans (HDHP) that help people save on premiums while taking responsibility for covering minor routine expenses as they come up.
